Each child who attends our Explorers’ Summer Camp jumps into the pages of quality and award-winning children’s literature. Every day there are numerous opportunities to work on core subject areas based on some of the most beloved and endearing books for young children. Reading, language arts, mathematics, and music are taught under the umbrella of great literature in a way that is fun and challenging. Children engage in reading activities throughout the day in both small and large group settings. Instructional and creative experiences are offered in art, cooking, language letter sounds, fine and gross motor skills, music, mathematics, science, and social studies. The program offers opportunities for a variety of structured and unstructured activities, both in and out of doors. The morning program is made up of periods of independent play with carefully designed centers, and outside play in a playground that includes swings, forts, and a climbing apparatus.
