5 Museums to Tour Online

As we all find ourselves at home, looking for ways to get out and experience the world, we’re sharing a few ways to explore without leaving your living room. Check back frequently for more virtual field trip ideas!

The Louvre
Travel to Paris and experience one of the world's most famous museums online! The Louvre offers beautifully curated tours of its galleries from their website. Find them here

The British Museum
The British Museum is also sharing their collections virtually, you can find them here.

Pro Tip: For little learners, break out those passports, make tickets, set up chairs to resemble a train, and travel from Paris to London via “The Chunnel.”

The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
Host your very own “Night at the Museum” with a virtual tour of the Museum of Natural History. You can find tours of their Current, Permanent and Past Exhibits. Other Smithsonian Tours are available here.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Head to this iconic museum in New York City, and spend the whole day exploring! A variety of The Met’s collections are available online here. Might we suggest a New York style pizza as a great lunch break?

The Van Gogh Museum
From Sunflowers to Japanese prints was there anything Van Gogh couldn’t do? Explore many of his famous paintings through his namesake museum in Amsterdam.

If you’re feeling inspired to create a masterpiece of your own by the end of the tour, find printable coloring pages from various library, archive, and cultural institution collections at  #colorourcollections.

Interested in a few more tours? You can find many options here and here. We’d love to see your travels, so share pictures of your tours on social media by tagging @st.annesbelfield on Twitter and Instagram, and use the hashtag #STABexploresfromhome.
