On Friday, April 12 the Learning Village welcomed the grandparents and special friends of students in the Pre-School building and East Wing, with Grades K – 4 students hosting a morning of musical performances, classroom visits, a celebration of books and readers, and a reception. Pre-School building students hosted an open house-style morning for the first time in seven years.
For weeks leading up to the event, Grades K – 4 students worked in their Performing Arts and Music & Movement classes to create unique presentations by grade level. Grade 4 students delighted their guests with A Celebration of Childhood, which included songs like "This Old Man" and "Queen Caroline," as well as adaptation of Shel Silverstein poems. Grades 1 & 3 combined to entertain their audience with nursery rhymes and "A Mandan Corn Festival," while Grades K & 2 came entertained friends and relatives with "The Great Spirits' Visit" and "The Legend of Bluebonnet," respectively.
Special thanks to all guests who traveled to be a part of the day, and watched from their homes via the School's livestream. Thanks also to all parent volunteers and special friends from other divisions who joined our Grades K – 4 students for their classroom visits.
Photos from the day are now available on the School SmugMug account.
