Perriello '89 and Barger '19 Receive Central Virginia Lacrosse Honors

Boys' Lacrosse Varsity Head Coach Bo Perriello '89 and rising senior Emmett Barger have received Central Virginia boys lacrosse honors as Coach of the Year and Player of the Year, respectively. For Perriello, the title has come for the second year in a row.

In addition to the Central Virginia honor, Barger's summer has included playing on the Under Armour All-American squad for the second time in his high school career.

""He has always distributed the ball well and he scored a few more goals this year, but really what stands out about Emmett are the intangibles," Perriello told the Daily Progress last month.

"He was elected a captain as a junior, which shows how his teammates feel about him. He was willing to be a wing on faceoffs, he fought for ground balls, he rode tough and he was always hustling."

Barger has verbally committed to defending ACC champion Notre Dame. Perriello played attack for the Fighting Irish from 1989 – 1993.
