Neylan Mason '20 won the "Through Our Eyes" art and writing competition recently organized by Francesca Grazioli '20 and The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative. More than 25 School students participated in the competition, which called for mixed media submissions by teenagers in Grades 9 – 12 in city and county schools, or who are in those grades as students being homeschooled, in response to the events of August 11 and 12, 2017 in Charlottesville.
Mason read her original poem, "Through the Concrete," at the competition's culmination on March 1, at The Bridge. In addition to the opportunity to read, she also received $100 for her first place status.
The "Through Our Eyes" exhibition of all submissions will be hosted at The Bridge gallery (209 Monticello Rd.) through March.
