He '12 Speaks to Chinese Principals with Jack Ma Foundation

On Jan. 13, alumnus and Board of Trustees member Changdong "East" He '12 spoke alongside Associate Head of School for Advancement Warren Buford at the Jack Ma Foundation's annual gathering of Chinese teachers and school principals in Sanya, China. The meeting was part of the Ma Foundation's Rural Principal and Teacher Initiative. Forest Lin '13 was also in attendance.

He and Buford represented St. Anne's-Belfield School as the only overseas school invited to the event. He spoke on his experiences as a student, Board member, and from an institutional perspective while Buford presented on the management and leadership practices and approaches that have led to a culture of excellence at the School.

The meeting was the second collaboration between the School and the Foundation. In October 2017 the Foundation led a team of 30 Chinese principals to Charlottesville for a one-day workshop on the practices and approaches used in American schools.
