Grosch Presents "Geology Detectives" at Annual VMI STEM Conference
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, Learning Village Science Department Chair Pam Grosch presented at the sixth annual STEM conference sponsored by Virginia Military Institute (VMI). The conference, with this year's theme of "Inspiring Teachers," was attended by public and private school math and science teachers from across the commonwealth.

Approximately 40 participants attended Grosch's presentation on "Geology Detectives," about a four-part project that teaches students about Earth's history in a way that is hands-on and collaborative. All attendees left the session very enthusiastic about the ideas that Grosch shared.

Other workshops at the conference included "Teaching Circuits is a SNAP," "Think Like a Scientist," and "Math as a Laboratory Science." More about the conference is available on the VMI website, including a full conference workshop matrix.
