Former Faculty Member Appointed Interim Chancellor of UNC-Chapel Hill

Kevin Guskiewicz, former athletic trainer and dorm parent at St. Anne's-Belfield School, has been appointed UNC-Chapel Hill's interim chancellor. Formerly the university's dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, a position in which he oversaw the largest academic unit in the institution, he began the interim position immediately.

Guskiewicz is a neuroscientist and internationally renowned expert on sports-related concussions.

"I strongly believe Kevin is the best person to lead UNC-Chapel Hill," UNC System Interim President Bill Roper said in a university press release. "Kevin is an outstanding researcher, innovator, and strategic thinker, and I look forward to working with him over the coming months..."
