On Tuesday, Feb. 19, the St. Anne's-Belfield School Athletics Department honored Phil Stinnie for reaching his 300th career win as the head coach of the Girls' Varsity Basketball team.
Stinnie has coached the team for 17 seasons, leading them to 14 League of Independent Schools (LIS) titles and multiple state tournament final four appearances, including two state championship wins. In his tenure, he has also fostered the achievements of many student-athletes, including Jovia Winkey '19 scoring her 1,000th career point earlier this season.
The 300th win was reached when the Saints defeated Saint Gertrude High School in the the LIS semifinals. They will host Trinity Episcopal School on Friday, Feb. 22 at 5:00 p.m. to compete in the league championship.
Congratulations to Coach Stinnie, and good luck to our Saints!
