3 Students Win 13 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have announced its winners and three St. Anne's-Belfield Upper School students have received a total of 13 honors.

Cescah Grazioli '20 received a Gold Key for her photograph "Crayons," a Silver Key for her photo "Losing Grip," and Honorable Mentions for three photographs - "Feeling Blue," "Handsome," and "Upside Down." Grazioli also received an Honorable Mention for her poem "Let's Be Kids Again."

Lynn Yue '20 received two Silver Keys for her drawings "Sibling Love" and "Look Beyond."

Hewson Duffy '20 received three Silver Keys for writing with his pieces "Chance Block," "Why Santa?" and "The Bargain," as well as two Honorable Mentions for his photographs "Night's Gates" and "Industrial Jaws."

Hosted by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Awards have supported the talent of millions of students since 1923. Distinguished alumni including Andy Warhol, Richard Avedon, Sylvia Plath, Kay WalkingStick, John Baldessari, Zac Posen, and Lena Dunham. In the 2018 program year, a record-breaking 346,000 works were submitted for adjudication at the regional level, with more than 2,800 students receiving national recognition.
