Upper School Computer Science Students Develop Virtual Easter Egg Hunt

In order to keep some elements of the annual Grades 1 & 12 Easter Egg Hunt alive this spring, the Upper School Honors Software Engineering team built a virtual version, adding in their own personal touches.

The goal of the activity is for students to help the seniors hunt for their lost memories from their time at the School. To play, click here and hit the play button after the screen loads.

You might recognize some familiar voices and faces throughout the story game, hearing introductions from faculty and what the seniors loved about Field Day, Prom, Chapel, and other hallmarks of their high school careers.

The group of 17 students, led by Upper School Computer Science teacher Zach Minster, did an amazing job creating this virtual experience via Scratch. Special thanks to them and everyone who helped bring this virtual community experience to life!

"We are all excited about finding opportunities to pivot our ongoing project-building effort and apply our skills to be of use to our community," said Minster. "Coordinating our work through our new virtual learning platform was an exciting challenge, and we are immensely proud of the result."
