Upper School Competes in Old Dominion MUN Conference, 3 Students Honored

The Upper School Model United Nations (MUN) Club traveled to Norfolk, Va. to compete in the Old Dominion MUN Conference Feb. 13 - 16 and three students came away with honors.

Twenty students participated in a variety of committees, including the UN General Assembly, Human Rights Council, and historical simulations of the Russian Revolution and League of Nations. Delegates prepared for the conference by researching their positions and then worked to meet their goals through diplomacy over the course of the weekend.

At the closing ceremonies, three students were honored with awards, including Hans Bai '22 and Luke Brown '22 earning Outstanding Delegate honors for their joint work representing Denmark on the Legal Committee, as well as Autumn Xu '21 earning an Honorable Mention for her work as the Minister of War in the "Japan in Chaos" committee.

In April, the MUN Club will travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in its last conference of the school year. Any Upper School students interested in joining MUN should contact Jon Shoup.
