Students in grades Kindergarten through twelve took to the fields of the Belfield Campus on May 30 for the School's annual Field Day. With families divided into maroon and white teams, all students undertook a rotation of multiple activities with their grade levels.
The event began with all students enjoying a pizza lunch in the Learning Village dining hall, followed by recognition of Upper School scholar athletes and senior giving. The 59 student-athletes recognized by the Athletic Boosters for their academic and athletic achievements all earned GPA's of 3.7 or higher an participated in more than one sport. This year's honorees included:
Evans Van Liew
Ten brave faculty members from each division competed in the Faculty Relay, including the dizzy bat, two-person hip relay, and more, and thanks to Ms. Brooke Canova, students enjoyed various relays, a bocce tennis throw, hurdles, hula hooping, an egg toss, and an obstacle course.
The grand finale relay included pairings of different grade levels to complete an army crawl, bear and crab walks, bunny hop, inchworm, and the much-anticipated piggyback race.
Thank you to all students, teachers, and parent cheerleaders for making this School tradition a memorable day for all!
