Dr. Paige Perriello '90 was born and raised in Charlottesville and is a graduate of St. Anne’s-Belfield School. She watched her father, Vito Perriello, serve as St. Anne’s-Belfield School’s team pediatrician for several years. She has carried on her father’s legacy since 2009. Dr. Perriello practices general pediatric/adolescent medicine at Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville.
After graduating from St. Anne’s-Belfield, Dr. Perriello attended Princeton University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree while playing field hockey and lacrosse. She earned her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine, and then completed her residency at Children’s National Medical Center. Following residency, she practiced as a staff physician at Children’s Hospital in Boston for two years before returning home to join Pediatric Associates. Additionally, she serves on the U.S. Lacrosse Sports, Science, and Safety Committee.
Dr. Thomas Schildwachter has served as St. Anne’s-Belfield School’s orthopedic team physician since 1980, while also serving as an assistant coach for the Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse team. He attended the University of Virginia where he played soccer and was an All-American defenseman in lacrosse, and continued at U.Va. to complete medical school and his orthopedic residency.
Dr. Schildwachter has served as a team physician for the U.S. U-19 Lacrosse Team in Australia and the U.S. Lacrosse Team at the World Games in Canada, alongside the School’s long-time team pediatrician Dr. Vito Perriello, Jr. He was inducted into the State of Virginia Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2000. Dr. Schildwachter is affiliated with Martha Jefferson Hospital and has been in private practice in Charlottesville where he has continued his interest and passion for athletics in the Charlottesville community.
