The Best of Both WorldsBeing a day-boarding school our students have the benefits of living on campus and having access to our facilities and dorm faculty 24/7 and connecting with families in the local community, getting involved and building a home here. 

A Vibrant Place to Live and LearnCharlottesville is a vibrant small city with amazing resources! Our campus is walking distance to the University of Virginia library and academic buildings allowing our students to use these resources on weekends.  

• Each student has an ID keycard that will grant them access to the dorm during non-school hours, and these areas are not accessible to day students. 
• Every dorm room door has an electronically-operated locking mechanism, opened with a four-digit code unique to every door’s lock. Dorm doors lock automatically upon closing.
• A dorm parent and/or members of the School’s third party security team are on duty at all times.
• The Residential Life Program has partnered with Orah, a student management platform, to ensure the safety of our students and streamline the management of life in the residential life program. Orah allows us to take attendance, coordinate events, access real-time information about the location of all students, executive emergency rolls, and keep a log of all information relevant to the caretaking of each student. All students and parents or guardians will receive an invitation to create an account and take action as needed.
• Dorm parents need to be able to reach all students in order to ensure their safety. Consequently, all Residential Life students are required to have a cell phone with a functioning U.S. phone number compatible with Orah's tile system, and all students are expected to be responsive to communication from the dorm phone.
