1:1 Program

In 1:1 programs, each child has access to a dedicated personal computing device throughout the school day.

This access creates opportunities for students to learn at their own pace and ability level, as well to discover the world of experiences available via the Internet and online resources. At St. Anne’s-Belfield School, devices and access vary by grade level.

Students in Grades K - 6 utilize School-owned and issued devices. In Grades K - 4, each student is provided with his or her own School-owned iPad to use during the school day. Students in fourth grade also have access to a shared laptop cart from which they may access computers when instructed. Students in Grade 5 and 6 use School-issued laptops during the school day, and also have access to a shared iPad cart.

In Grades 7 - 12, students participate in our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program and use their own laptops at home and at the School. Many students already own and bring a device to school, and this practice is encouraged. This philosophy supports students’ individual choice regarding technology tools, and it reduces waste by not requiring the purchase of a second laptop if a student already owns one. Allowing students and families to choose their device increases involvement, fluency of use, and responsibility towards that technology. A number of School-owned iPads and/or computers will also be available for any curriculum needs not supported by a student’s own device.

St. Anne’s-Belfield School is committed to ensuring all students have a laptop at home and school, and the School will assist families as needed to facilitate this access.
