Art of Code Workshop

Please be advised that this workshop has sold out, but we are creating a wait list of interested students. If you would like to be put on this list and contacted should a space become available, please contact Nina Bowen at nbowen@stab.org.

Grades 4 - 8 students are invited to explore light, color, and code with co-coordinators of the School's computer science program Kim Wilkens and Zach Minster for an Art of Code workshop featuring Booth Family Inspiration Speaks presenter Danielle Feinberg, director of photography for lighting at Pixar Animation Studios.

Feinberg will share how she brings art and code together to create fantastic animated movies. Then learn how to code light and color to create art.

Feinberg began her career at Pixar Animation Studios in February 1997. As she worked her way from an entry level, technical job to one of the top creative positions, she crewed many of Pixar’s feature films including Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles. Feinberg rose to be the director of photography for lighting on Disney•Pixar’s Academy Award®-winning films WALL•E, Brave, and Coco.

The workshop will take place on Monday, April 15 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. prior to Feinberg's public presentation at 7:00 p.m. in Grisham Hall. Students are asked to arrive by 4:45 p.m. for the workshop. An exact location is to be determined.
