Youth Mental Health First Aid Seminar
Grades 5 - 12 parents are invited to join Upper School Counselor Sophie Speidel on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. for a Youth Mental Health First Aid training seminar.
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Youth Mental Health First Aid helps teachers assist students experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. The program also introduces teachers and parents to the distinct risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems and addiction concerns in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and educates them about how to help kids with mental health challenges.
The seminar will take place in the Conway Convocation Center Film Room. Please fill out the form below to reserve your spot. There is a $10 charge per person to help offset the cost of the book The training seminar is limited to 25 participants. Breakfast and coffee will be served courtesy of the Parents’ Association. After you have completed the form successfully, you will receive a confirmation email and be redirected to the homepage.
