Alli Wilkie

Alli Wilkie

Associate Director of Athletic Development

NASM Certified Personal Trainer
YA Registered Yoga Teacher
ISSA Certified Sports Nutritionist

Alli is a member of the athletic development team, working with students in each sport. Her coaching philosophy is to create a healthy balance between hard work, self-care, and fun, and to teach young people how to listen to their bodies. Alli believes that preparation and recovery are both keys to athletic performance, and that learning to practice healthy habits while still young leads to a lifetime of good health. When not on campus, she can be found driving a pickup truck full of German Shepherds, showing retired racehorses, traveling overseas to work with ATP tennis players, and teaching yoga to the University of Virginia men's lacrosse team.

Why St. Anne's-Belfield?
St. Anne’s is a family of learners, both teachers, and students. I love the atmosphere. Teachers are encouraged and have the freedom to evolve their pedagogy with the current best teaching practices. Lessons are never permanent; they are constantly evolving each year to meet the needs of the students. The center of the curriculum is the student, not standardized tests. St. Anne’s focuses on the whole child, including their social-emotional development and sense of belonging. It feels like a family at St. Anne’s; a family with a hunger for knowledge, morality, and stewardship.

Why St. Anne's-Belfield?

I deeply value the quality of the community here. When I first set foot onto the Upper School campus, I was blown away by how genuinely kind all the members of the community were to me and to each other. Since working here, the neighborly atmosphere at the school has only become more apparent.

Beyond this, the School is also in an excellent location. I'm a native Floridian and a graduate of Colby College in Maine, and I find that central Virginia offers the best of both worlds. I highly recommend Charlottesville as a place to visit and live to most people I meet.

Fun fact: When not skateboarding, hiking, or playing music, I enjoy reading non-fiction, going on adventures with my wife, Val, and drinking coffee.

Why St. Anne's-Belfield?
Working at St. Anne's-Belfield School has been wonderful! I love having to opportunity to get to know each of our Pre-School students, as well as their families. Our outdoor Pre-School is such a unique program and I love being a part of something that pairs so well with the natural way children learn.

Our students are so inquisitive and caring. Not one child is exactly like another and it is wonderful to get to spend time with them.

Why St. Anne's-Belfield?
I chose to work at St. Anne's-Belfield because of the collaborative nature of our faculty who focus, first and foremost, on ensuring the well-being of our students. Additionally, our students bring to the table a diverse group of interests and passions, which keeps us on our toes! I also love working with international students and appreciate the strong community built in our dorm program.

I love the investment that so many of our students put into the St. Anne's-Belfield community. They love and School and constantly look to serve its best interests and represent it in the best light possible. They're also just really fun to be around and always good for a laugh. :)

Why St. Anne's-Belfield?
The relationships and community. As a student here, I cherished the relationships I built with my peers, teachers, and coaches. I feel extremely fortunate that I have had the opportunity to return to this community and join this devoted and talented faculty (including some of my former teachers and coaches!) in caring for and nurturing lasting relationships with students.

Being able to spend time each day with students is what I enjoy most about my job. Helping parents to consider the possibilities for their child or children is what is most compelling about creating the next St. Anne's-Belfield community each and every year. Every Saint, every day!
