During the 2019 Winter Break, the Asia-Pacific Innovation Center (APIC) hosted a social gathering for more than 20 alumni, students, parents, and friends in Shanghai, China. Attendees enjoyed conversations and refreshments, and APIC team members Amy Lin and Forest Lin gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the event explaining the Center’s mission to support St. Anne’s-Belfield School in the areas of academics, admission, development, and global engagement.
Yanpei Huang ‘12 shared her own experience as an international student and young professional with the Cranemere Group in New York City, as well as a member of the Acquisition Committee of the Guggenheim Museum. Huang also discussed her experiences at the School, shared reflections on applying to colleges, and offered advice for students and families along the journey.
“The time to start thinking about life is now,” she said. “No matter where you are in your education process.”
Huang also highlighted the importance of establishing priorities as an international student, and emphasized the benefit of developing good time managements skils early on.
Alumni and families enjoyed having a chance to reconnect with each other and the opportunity to discuss the St. Anne’s-Belfield School experience. Thank you to all involved!
