Resources are grouped by rising grade level and are labeled for new and returning students. except for Rising Grade 8 students where the activities are the same for both new and returning.

Please read this cover letter carefully. It contains important information about expectations for summer work for these courses. Then complete the appropriate set of summer work assignments listed below. Please ensure you complete the right set of assignments based on the descriptions provided below. If you have any questions about which assignment(s) you should complete, please reach out to Mr. Bartholomew, Mrs. Bennett, Mr. Remchuk, or Mr. Lippmann.
Students entering AP AB Calculus or Honors Calculus (from HIM3 or IM4)
- Complete the Essential Algebra Problem Set.
Students entering AP BC Calculus (from HIM3)
- Complete the Essential Algebra Problem Set.
- Complete the BC Calculus Addendum.
Students entering AP BC Calculus (from AP AB Calculus)
- Complete the BC Calculus Addendum (due at the start of Module 2).
- Complete the Calculus Mechanics Primer (due at the start of Module 2).
AP StatisticsPlease complete the Khan Academy “Get Ready for AP Statistics” course.

Renaissance Reader
Renaissance Reader ProgramOver the summer, students are welcome to start reading for the Renaissance Reading program. Although the required reading assignments below do not count towards this program, students are encouraged to choose their independent reading from the Renaissance Reader List that contains current faculty suggestions. Students who complete five books and are able to discuss them with a faculty member will be recognized as Renaissance Readers.

Summer Prep Work for Advanced Chemistry (optional and recommended)
- The document below reviews several concepts that were covered in Advanced Physics that students will be using in Advanced Chemistry.
- Students are strongly encouraged to review previous work or watch the linked video tutorials. Collaboration with fellow students is encouraged.
- Students should not copy answers from peers or the internet. This assignment is not graded but will provide teachers some insight about students’ current skill level.
