Justin Taylor '22 has been invited to participate in the USA Junior National Basketball Team Minicamp from April 1 - 5 in Atlanta, Ga. Taylor is one of only 75 players from across the nation from the Classes of 2021, 2022, and 2023 to be invited to participate.
"Our entire program is extremely excited for Justin. A true student-athlete, he's an industrious worker always seeking to challenge himself not just on the court, but in the classroom and as a leader in the St. Anne's-Belfield community," said Boys' Varsity Basketball Head Coach Damin Altizer. "He's extremely deserving and there's no better person to represent St. Anne's-Belfield School, the VPL Conference, and all of Virginia on such a prestigious national stage."
The Minicamp aims to prepare players for 2020 competitions including FIBA U17 World Cup and the FIBA Americas U18 Championship. The Minicamp will also coincide with the final four of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.
As a freshman at St. Anne's-Belfield School last year, Taylor was honored on VPL All-Conference and 1st Team All-Central Virginia teams. So far this season, he has been named to the VPL All-Conference and Sleepy Thompson All-Tournament teams and will compete in the VISAA State Tournament this week, with his season stats including 15.5ppg, 5.5rpg, and 2.8apg.
Good luck and congratulations, Justin!
