St. Anne's-Belfield School is excited to announce the appointment of Iñaki Gonzalo San Millán as the next Boys' Varsity Soccer head coach.
Gonzalo San Millán most recently coached JV soccer and taught Spanish at St. Christopher's School in Richmond, Va. He has coached premier club soccer over the years in Spain, Oregon, and Virginia, including the Santutxu FC and Eugene Timbers FC, and has collaborated as a color commentator with Lane United FC. Gonzalo San Millán will also be joining the Upper School faculty as a Spanish teacher, and is excited to be a part of the School community.
"Iñaki's experience both in soccer and in independent schools made him an intriguing candidate for this position," said Director of Athletics Dewayne Robinson. "Over the course of the interview process, he displayed the ideal qualities, in addition to short and long term programmatic goals, that we felt put our program in the best position to achieve excellence and grow on and off the field."
During the search process, seven student-athletes participated in the interview process, providing highly valuable feedback. Gonzalo San Millán will begin working with players this summer in preparation for the fall season.
Gonzalo San Millán earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish philology from Deustuko Unibertsitatea in Spain, a master's in Spanish literature from Washington University in Saint Louis, and a master's in Spanish from the University of Oregon.
