Procedures for School Closings/Delayed Openings

In the event of inclement weather and depending upon the severity of travel conditions, the following steps will be taken by school administrators. Please note that the school makes every effort to make the decision of a one-hour or two-hour delayed start or the closing of school no later than 6:00 a.m.

• The ParentREACH™ service will be used to contact parents and faculty (phone, email, and text messages.) If you have caller ID, the number appearing will be 411411411 – not the school’s phone number.
• The local TV and radio stations will be contacted and will also provide status updates.
  
• A notice will be placed on the web site home page. Check back for updates.
• For delayed starts, there is no morning care. Do not drop your child off before the start of school.
• All after-school activities will be cancelled. For athletic schedules, check the website and/or call the Sports Hotline at (434) 220-4200 for the latest updates.
