St. Anne's-Belfield School Uniform Consignment Shop
The Parents’ Association is going to operate a Consignment Shop for St. Anne's-Belfield School families to facilitate the resale of uniforms. We will be collecting uniforms through the end of the year and will conduct six sale days during the month of August at the Tarring Gym located at the Learning Village. Interested? Read on for the specifics.
Terms:
The sales price for each article of clothing will be set at either one-third or one-half of the original retail price based on the condition of the item (as determined by the sales managers). The consignor family will receive 75% of the sales price once a sale occurs. The Parents’ Association will retain 25% of the sales price. If you simply wish to donate the clothing the Parents’ Association will retain the entire sales price.
Procedure for Collection and Sale:
Please make sure all consigned clothing is clean. Each item of consigned clothing must contain a family name and email address securely attached. We suggest a large piece of masking tape with the name written in Sharpie or ball point pen. If you have a number of items, place them in a plastic bag, tie it shut and place the tape with the family name and address on the outside of the bag. Over the summer the sales managers will send each family an inventory of the sale items consigned together with the sales price assigned.
There will be a collection bin located in each Division office now through June 5. Either have your child bring the items to school or stop in yourself if the amount is unwieldy. We will also collect additional items the few days preceding the August sale dates at the Tarring Gym. Each consignor family will be assigned an account number so that no name will appear on any clothing during the sale.
The sale days will be August 6th, 7th, and 8th (during pre-season for Varsity sports) and on August 15th, 16th and 17th (the week preceding the start of school) from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM in the Tarring Gym. Clothing will be organized by like items and sizes. After the sale days conclude, we will tally each consignor family’s sales and send you an itemization together with a check for your net proceeds. Unsold items will be retained for the first year after which they will be donated to the Salvation Army unless you request a return of the items.
Subsequent sales will most likely be held mid-year and at the end of the school year based on demand. We will send reminder notices of the donation times and sale dates.
If you have questions, the sales managers for the year are Judy Giles, 244-0085, and Jeanne Marie Holden, 296-6227.
