BOARDING

Residential LIfe Program

St. Anne's-Belfield School offers 7- and 5-day boarding options for students in grades 9-12.

The boarding residence is located in the midst of our Upper School campus. The rooms are arranged in suites with two rooms sharing a bathroom. Students share a common dining room and lounge. Meals, prepared on site, are provided by a local caterer in the school dining room. Enrollment in the boarding program is intentionally limited to allow us to maintain a sense of family and community. Our 7-day boarding option enrolls students from all over the world and the US, with the aim of creating a diverse, engaged, and healthy community of young people who call St. Anne's-Belfield and Charlottesville home for a few months at a time.  A 5-day program is also available for students who live close enough to go home for the weekends.

Our boarding students are important members of our school community. The classroom experience and extra-curricular activities foster the integration between our day and boarding students. With the support and care of the residential faculty members, all of whom live in the dormitory, our students are responsible and cooperative members of our community. Faculty members from the Upper School often join our boarding students and staff for dinner, study sessions, and weekend activities. Boarding students are afforded all the opportunities of being part of the Charlottesville community. This includes the benefits of cultural events, world renowned speakers, and collegiate athletics, all within walking distance of our campus.

Approximately 15% of the Upper School students are boarding students. Our ESL Program has attracted students from as many as 20 countries. This opportunity for cultural exchange has enriched the high school experience of both the boarding and day student population.
