Middle School
The St. Anne’s-Belfield School’s Middle School convenes 5th-8th graders in labs, studios, classrooms, and playing fields. Our faculty understands the development of students as a long-term endeavor and applies a wide perspective to their learning and growth.
We seek to develop well-rounded young people, mirroring the mentoring an adolescent needs. Top-caliber instruction complements strong teacher-student relationships, which extend beyond the classroom and beyond academic interests. Many faculty coach or lead clubs; both endeavors provide yet another context for students and faculty to emphasize our spiritual lives and the honor code. Intellectual rigor, creative drive, emotional health, and physical challenge are facilitated, too, by the Middle School’s Habits of Mind and Heart: Tolerance, Initiative, Wonder, Service, Integrity, Precision, and Perseverance. Balancing the adolescent need for burgeoning independence, we strive to build self-reliant and confident young adults.
