Mr. Patrick "Paddy" Foss has been named the next head coach of the Girls' Varsity Soccer team. A native of South Riding, Va., Foss came to Charlottesville as a recruited member of the U.Va. Men's Soccer team in 2013. While with the program he served as a captain and was honored with several awards including pre-season All-American his senior season. He was also a member of the 2014 Men's Soccer National Championship-winning team.
"Patrick stood out due to his invaluable experiences as a player and coach, and his vision in relation to the goal of building a highly competitive program with well-rounded student-athletes here at St. Anne's-Belfield" noted Athletic Director Dewayne Robinson.
In the past, Foss has coached soccer with Athletes in Action, mentored elementary school students through Athletes for Hope, and been involved with community projects via City of Promise.
Foss currently works for the Virginia Athletics Foundation, and remains an active member of the Charlottesville community. He has already begun work with the varsity program, and will make his coaching debut on March 13 when the girls open their season against Virginia Episcopal School.
