Summer ELL Program

To complement the learning that takes place in our classrooms, we schedule daily physical activity each weekday as well as weekend excursions designed to culturally enrich and entertain students. Weekday activities take place after the last class of the day on  campus and at other locations in the Charlottesville area. These activities include swimming, soccer, tennis, and other team games geared to foster lifelong fitness and teamwork. Friday night and weekend activities take students off campus to experience other adventures offered by the beautiful state of Virginia. These activities include trips to Monticello (the home of Thomas Jefferson), amusement parks, local outdoor attractions, performances, as well as a summer-culminating all-day trip to Washington, D.C. to see some of our nation’s most noteworthy memorials, museums, and government buildings.

The three-week Summer ELL Camp is designed to provide students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture while improving their English skills. Our curriculum is differentiated in order to accommodate various levels of English fluency. In addition to English classes, students will have the opportunity to enjoy computer science and art classes. All work is assigned based on individual assessment and progression.

Students live on our Greenway Rise Campus in our attractive and spacious boarding facilities. Our dormitories are arranged in suites hosting four to six students. Depending on the size of the room, two or three students live in one room on either side of a shared bathroom.

Founded in 1910, St. Anne’s-Belfield School has provided high quality education to its students for over 100 years. Our campus is located in the heart of Charlottesville, Virginia on two campuses totaling nearly 50 acres. Students attending the Summer ELL Camp are provided all the opportunities of being part of the Charlottesville community. Our location exposes students to cultural and musical events, historical landmarks, and natural beauty.

Getting to St. Anne’s-Belfield School
The School is located two hours south of our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., and one hour west of Richmond, the capital of Virginia. Transportation to/from Dulles Airport (IAD) in Washington, D.C. is provided at the beginning and end of the Summer ELL Camp. Please visit www.stab.org/directions.

Admission to the Summer ELL Camp is a two-step application process. If interested, please click the button below or submit an application here. Early submission of applications is recommended. The camp director will contact selected candidates for a video interview and additional materials, including a writing sample.
