Opportunity Block

New to the Upper School schedule in 2016 - 2017, Opportunity Block (Opp Block) is held twice a week, and serves as a flexible learning and cultural enrichment time for students grades 9 - 12. Topics range from academic assistance to hobbies to community service trips.

The blocks are organized and offered by faculty, with opportunities for students and student groups to propose (faculty-sponsored and -approved) programming. In some cases, teachers will request or require that students join a particular activity that relates to that student’s academic work or extracurricular involvement, but most students will be at liberty to choose their endeavors.
