Media & Communications
The Office of Communications is a place of strategy and creativity, where words, images, and multimedia are brought together in a purposeful manner to tell the stories of St. Anne’s-Belfield School.
In addition to focusing on external relations, Communications provides a variety of services to the School community in support of School- and division-wide communications. From planning and project management to writing and editing, press and media relations, concept and design, photography, videography and multimedia, and web and social media, the office supports the strategic goals of the School with exciting projects throughout the year.
If you are a media professional working on a story, interested in being added to our media distribution list, or requesting photographs and/or video footage, please contact Beth Stefanik at (434) 296-5106 or email email@example.com.
More information for members of the media is available in our Newsroom.
School-wide communication from the Office of Communications centers around the St. Anne’s-Belfield School website, www.stab.org. School news is updated frequently on the homepage and in our student, parent, and faculty and staff portals. Important documents, such as handbooks and forms, are also available in the portals. Students and parents are strongly encouraged to check the homepage and login to their portals often for new information. The login button for the portals is located at the bottom right of every School webpage.
Social Media: The School posts frequently to Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo (video), SmugMug (photos), and the STAB 365 blog. Links to all accounts may be found in the bottom banner of all School webpages. Feeds from Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, the STAB 365 blog, and the Head of School blog may also be found on the Community page of the website. Please use #stab365 on social media to share more about our School and community.
Weekly Digest Emails: Division-specific weekly digest emails will be sent each Monday morning and contain news, announcements, and calendar items for the week ahead. All parents are automatically signed up for these emails, but may opt out using the unsubscribe button included in each email. News feed for all divisions are also available at all times in the parent portal.
Parent Alerts: Parent alerts are sent via email, telephone, and text message to convey important, immediate information about School delays and closings, weather warnings, and other events affecting scheduling and safety at the School. Parent alerts from the School are indicated by the number 309-39 and followed by specific alert information. All parents, faculty, and staff should sign up for the ParentReach Emergency Contact system each school year.
Campus Signs: The School uses large signs at the entrance to each campus as a reminder of upcoming events.
Occasional Letters: As necessary, the head of school writes letters to the parent body explaining issues of interest to the School’s community. These letters might explain the thinking behind a curricular decision or explain how a particular social trend affects the School.
Perspectives: Published twice a year, Perspectives magazine includes articles about the School and its people, places, and programs as well as alumni news. This publication is mailed to parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of the School. Digital editions of past issues are available on the School's Issuu.
News & Notes: Published once a month, this e-newsletter features School news and profiles, as well as reminders about upcoming events and opportunities. This publication is emailed to parents, Upper School students, current faculty & staff, and alumni and friends of the School who subscribe. A digital archive of the year’s issues is available in the portals.
Handbooks and Guides: The School publishes a variety of handbooks and guides each year, including the Student & Family Handbook each August, that are available in the parent, student, and faculty and staff portals.
School Calendar: The School calendar is updated daily and may be accessed from the bottom banner of each School webpage. This is a public calendar. Internal calendars specific to parents, faculty, and staff are available in the Veracross portals.
School Directory: The School Directory is published and mailed to parents and faculty soon after the start of each academic year. It includes numbers of the various School telephones, an alphabetical list of students, a grade list of students, an alphabetical list of faculty (with photos), and a list of parent volunteers. The addresses and telephone numbers of St. Anne’s-Belfield students and faculty are not to be used for any purposes other than those authorized by the School. Electronic student, parent, and faculty directories are available in the portals.
