A- = 3.7B = 3.0C+ = 2.3C- = 1.7D = 1.0F = 0.0

The numerical value of .5 is added to the grade point of each Advanced Placement and honors course.

Honors and Advanced Placement Courses

Students must meet entry requirements to take Honors and AP courses, and all students enrolled in AP courses are required to take the appropriate AP exam. Although no Advanced Placement course is offered in English Literature and Composition, qualified students are encouraged to take this test at the end of their junior year. Over 90% of the 170 students who have taken this test since the elimination of the AP English course seven years ago have earned a score of 3 or better.
