STAB Hosting April 15 'She Started It' Screening and Panel

Charlottesville, Va., April 13, 2017 – As part of this year's Tom Tom Festival, St. Anne's-Belfield School will co-host a screening of 'She Started It' with Charlottesville Women in Tech on Saturday, April 15.

 

The showing will be followed by a panel discussion of female entrepreneurs, including LeiLei Secor, Suz Somersall '02, Lorraine Sanders, Kim Mahan and moderated by St. Anne's-Belfield School computer science instructor and Tech-Girls founder Kim Wilkens. Film director Nora Poggi will also take part. 

 

According to the film's website, "Launched in 2013, 'She Started It' is a feature length documentary film on women tech entrepreneurs, shot on location in Silicon Valley, NYC, Europe, Vietnam, Mississippi and more, that aims to highlight successful role models for young women. It is the first film to show the behind the scenes of running a tech start-up as a young woman."

 

The documentary was an official selection of the 2016 Virginia Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, Savannah Film Festival, and more.

 

This event is free and open to the public.
