Three STAB Athletes Signing Letters of Intent

Charlottesville, VA, Nov. 08, 2016 – On Monday, Nov. 14, St. Anne's-Belfield School will host a signing event for three members of the Class of 2017 who have committed to play their sports at the collegiate level. The event will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Greenway Rise Auditorium (2132 Ivy Road).


Jayla Davis (Hurt, Va.) – Basketball, Sacred Heart University

Jayla Davis, daughter of Jill Patrick and Clyde Davis, has committed to play basketball for Sacred Heart University. She was named Scrimmage Play Newcomer of the Year in 2015 and All Defensive team in 2016, and second team All Central Virginia in 2016. A multi-sport athlete, Jayla has also played a major role in the success of the track program at St. Anne's-Belfield School, and she is a two-time All State performer. Jayla is wonderful athlete who always puts her team first.


Joe Robertson (Charlottesville, Va.) – Lacrosse, Duke University

Joe Robertson, son of John and Debbie Robertson, has committed to play lacrosse at Duke University. Joe has been a three-year Varsity starter at St. Anne's-Belfield School and returns for his senior year as a second-year team captain. Robertson has been named All Prep three times, All State his sophomore and junior year, and was a U.S. Lacrosse All American as a junior. He also represented the School as a three-time member of the Washington D.C. Under Armour All American Team, and was twice invited to the Maverick Showtime Showcase for the top high school players annually. Joe has been the School's top goal scorer each of the last three years, and will likely graduated as the School's all-time leading scorer.


Brianna Tinsley (Madison, Va.) – Basketball, University of Virginia

Brianna Tinsley, daughter of Vanessa Strother, stepdaughter of Corey Strother, and daughter of Rafael Waller, has committed to play basketball for the University of Virginia. Brianna has been a three-year standout member of the basketball program at St. Anne's-Belfield School. Thanks to her outstanding play she has been a three-time All LIS Conference, two-time First Team All State, and two-time State All Tournament team member. As a sophomore she was named Scrimmage Play Player of the Year. Brianna's hard work and drive for success has placed her among the best basketball players in the country for the class of 2017.

This event will be part of a St. Anne's-Belfield Upper School assembly, and student-athletes will be available for interviews following the ceremony in the lobby of the auditorium. Please note the School assembly will still be taking place during this interview period.
