St. Anne's-Belfield School Hosting March 21 Author Talk for Thousands of Area Elementary Students

Charlottesville, Va., March 15, 2016 – As part of the 2016 Virginia Festival of the Book, St. Anne’s-Belfield School will host more than 2,500 second and third grade students from Charlottesville and Albemarle County on Monday, March 21 for a talk by acclaimed authors Jon Scieszka and Steven Weinberg. Students will be introduced to the wacky worlds created in popular children’s books for all ages, and the event will be livestreamed for local students unable to attend, including children being treated at the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital. The livestream will be available on the day of the event at http://bit.ly/VaBook2016livestream.

Scieszka is the author of the New York Times bestselling Frank Einstein series as well as popular children’s book The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, among others. In 2008 he was named the inaugural National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature by the Librarian of Congress, He has also founded Guys Read, a web-based literacy program for boys.

Weinberg is the author of You Must Be This Tall, and both author and illustrator of Rex Finds an Egg! Egg! Egg!, among other titles.
